Ph.D. Candidate, Political Science
Mara Revkin is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at Yale University, where her research focuses on state-building, governance, and lawmaking by armed groups. Her dissertation, based on extensive fieldwork in Turkey and Iraq, examines the state-building project and eventual state failure of the Islamic State. She holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and is also working on legal research projects related to the reintegration of civilians who have lived in territories controlled and governed by terrorist groups. Prior to graduate school, she was a Junior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for Middle East Peace and a Fulbright Fellow in Oman.
