Join Leonid Volkov, 2018 World Fellow, for a round-table discussion on political Islam and the everyday life of Russia’s Muslim regions, featuring Alisa Ganieva, a prominent Russian writer of Dagestani origin. Ms. Ganieva is the author of two novels: “The Mountain and the Wall” and “Bride and Groom.” Her books have won a number of awards, including the Voloshin Literary Award (2007, 2009), the Debut Prize (2009), and the Gorky Prize (2008). She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Iowa.
