Good Society Forum: Reducing Inequality in the Middle East and North Africa
September 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Even before the coronavirus crisis struck, people in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) were protesting against injustice and inequality. The pandemic and the lockdown measures taken by governments have paralyzed economies and threaten to tip millions of people into poverty, with women, refugees, migrant workers, and those working in the informal economy among the worst affected. Join us for a panel discussion on reducing inequality in the MENA region. Our panelists are Sally Abi Khalil, 2020 World Fellow and Country Director of Oxfam in Lebanon, Nabil Abdo, Senior Policy Advisor, MENA, Oxfam, and Dr. Charlotte Karam, Director of the Center of Inclusive Business and Leadership for Women, American University of Beirut. The Good Society Forum is a community of change-makers around the world with a common quest to build the good society. Launched in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Good Society Forum webinars digitally connect change makers around the world, engage them on ideas, and inspire action to build the good society.Registration Info
