Description:

Graduate students at the Jackson School of Global Affairs will host a conversation with 2024 World Fellow Fausto “Nino” Ximenes. Before coming to Yale, Ximenes served as the Country Director of Oxfam International in Timor-Leste where he strived, together with more than twenty civil society organization partners, stakeholders and communities, in tackling challenges of climate justice, gender equality, just economic development and civic participation. Prior to that, Ximenes served with various civil society & international organizations including the UN. Ximenes’ academic and career paths are heavily influenced by the tumultuous independence journey of his native Timor-Leste, as well as the post-conflict national-building and development.
