Geng Ngarmboonanant is a managing director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and a former deputy chief of staff to Secretary Janet L. Yellen at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. At Treasury, he advised Secretary Yellen on domestic and international economic policy and strategic matters, including serving on the Covid-19 economic crisis response team. He is a recipient of the Treasury Medal. Before his government service, he worked at Bain & Company, and at an investment management startup since acquired by Capital One. He is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations and was a fellow at New America, a DC-based think tank.
Geng graduated from Yale College with a B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics, and he holds a J.D. from Yale Law School. His work has been published in national outlets such as the New York Times and Washington Post.
