May Akl is a founding member of the Free Patriotic Movement and advises the President of Lebanon, Michel Aoun, on a wide range of political and media issues. Earlier in her career, May worked as a reporter at An-Nahar newspaper and as a press officer in the office of the late Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.She is a lecturer at the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, where she also earned her BA, MA, and PhD degrees.
