A discussion on how the next generation of leaders is redesigning organizational models to drive change and create economic value by prioritizing people and collective healing.

Short bio:

Hector Verdugo is the Associate Executive Director of Homeboy Industries, where he has worked for over 16 years, overseeing day-to-day operations, training, and mentoring. He is also a public speaker on gang prevention and re-entry, and serves on several non-profit boards and advisory, including Anti Recidivism Coalition, Legacy LA and LA VoicePICO. Working with “those left behind without hope focusing on healing and re-entry with impact creating a positive ripple effect not only around the city of Los Angeles, but in communities around the world.”

Soraya Hosni is a 2024 Yale World Fellow, an anthropologist, entrepreneur, and mother who dreams in eight languages. She works to preserve indigenous knowledge, safeguard the environment, and revitalize heritage zones through the New Medina Initiative by empowering communities and promoting sustainable business development.

Conversation moderated by Mark Gonzales:

Mark Gonzales is a futurist and Chair of the Dept. of the Future, with over 20 years of experience shaping civic imagination and human-centered design. He develops empathy technologies and creates child-inclusive cities. Currently he is serving as the CEO of the impact investment fund Collective Continuum.
