Description:

Laura Krause is a โ€™24 Yale World Fellow and an expert on social cohesion and democracy. She is the Founding Director of More in Common Germany, an organization dedicated to understanding the forces driving people apart, identifying common ground, and countering โ€œus vs. themโ€ narratives. Laura is part of the organization’s international executive team, working with colleagues from France, Poland, the UK, the US, and Brazil. Founded in response to polarization and growing threats to liberal democracies, More in Common seeks to identify shared challenges and effective solutions across countries.

Laura partners with diverse groups across German society – from grassroots initiatives and political institutions to media organizations and businesses โ€” to help build a more inclusive and resilient society and democracy. She is a political scientist by training, twice named among German society’s ’40 Under 40,’ and the author of several landmark studies on social cohesion in Germany. Her publications cover topics like inclusive party politics, democratic innovation, and women in politics. Previously, she worked as a political consultant and on election campaigns on both sides of the Atlantic, including the 2008 Clinton campaign.
